The feel-good theatre/workshop/experience is now available for UK & international bookings
Can the audience (you) make a new community in just 60 minutes?
Geoff: the social cohesion officer is here to find out. Fun and uplifting; Community Service is a unique experience that brings people together, spreads collective joy and turns the onlookers into the entertainment. This interactive & participatory experiment straddles the line between workshop and comedy show, in an unforgettable way.
Deftly deploying his trademark blend of sincerity and mischief, Community Service is Seamas Carey at his best; anarchic, joyful and accessible. Come take part or just observe this hilarious social experiment from the internationally award winning Cornish artist.
The show can be performed in any space (indoors our out), can be easily translated into any language and is techinaly light weight/self sufficient.
It connects with all ages and uses silent physical comedy, enabling everyone to understand the simple yet profound premise.
Seamas Carey plays Geoff, a grumpy clown character who’s been sent by The Council to spread collective joy, yet hates his job. He reluctantly gathers a crowd in a large circle and leads them through a series of humorous, silly and moving exercises.
But this time it’s different. The audience manage to warm Geoff’s heart, liberating him from The Council’s laborious, souless instructions. Geoff discover’s his true (dancing) self and goes wild with the crowd.
