Pagan Pandemonium at Tate St Ives

Join us as we mourn the old and seek the new, in a comedy sketch film screening and display

Having planned to make an outdoor, family friendly, Covid safe, community affirming silly game show for September 2020, it was all postponed sadly due to 'you know what'. Instead, Seamas and his team adapted an Indoor TV Studio scenario to create an online production of Pagan Pandemonium. In celebration of the potential easing of lockdown restrictions on July 19th, we’ll be screening a special adapted version of Pagan Pandemonium leading up to this new date.

A bonkers, surreal and educational TV game show featuring Cornish history and lost traditions. Watch two local families go head to head (from a safe distance) as they dance, sing and welcome in the future.

Visitors will be invited to engage with the themes of the games, in a light-hearted ritual to signal new beginnings.

Featuring a band, techno Morris dancing, a wrestling straw bear and a singing standing stone; join Seamas Carey as he celebrates communal joy and asks what happens, when such a thing is lost?

Pagan Pandemonium production funded by: Arts Council England, FEAST, Cornwall Council and Cornwall Museums Partnership.
